Quarterlife Crisis
Many if us 20-something-yr-olds experience this: the dreadful fear that we haven't got a clue where the direction of our lives are heading. If anyone else out there is like me, you know exactly what I am talking about. But unlike the well-known mid-life crisis, this mini crisis does not cause as big a panic. We all figure that we are still young and have plenty of time to figure things out. We begin to realize that what we studied in those four years in undergraduate school may or may not be pertinent to our career choice (whatever that mey be). So we come to a standstill....or what seems like a standstill. Because underneath that stationary object sitting in that tiny cubicle, aka you, the synapses in your head are working. We are constantly thinking about where we should go next and which is the best and easiest way to get there. Small shards of panic quickly engulf us and as quickly as it comes, it goes away again as we move on to the next topic. Before you know it, several years have gone by and you are still in that same cubicle, still thinking about where you should go next, and hoping that you will figure it out soon while everyone around you continues to say "Oh, don't worry too much about it! You're still young!" But what happens when you're not that young anymore and you still haven't got a clue what the hell you're doing with your life?! OMG! I DON'T KNOW!! BREATH.....Ok....calm again. Back to the drawing board.
